Next let's discuss something else. Humans are absolutely bound by routine.
This can be a blessing and a curse. There are many good habits formed by building a routine.
But, I’m here to talk to you about a different type routine, one you develop in the gym and can be bad.
I'm talking about one thing: breaking up your reps. You know, dropping the bar, dropping off the bar, letting the kettlebell fall, face-planting on the floor mid-push-up set, etc…Don't get me wrong, I don't expect you to go through a wod without breaking them at all but many have developed the habit of letting go really early.
I have a piece of advice for you: If you drop it once; you’ll drop it every time…
That’s right; every time, no I didn't stutter........Every single time…
Let's say you're in the first round of 15 reps and you drop the barbell at rep 5; you’ll do it again the following set No Doubt About It. Trust me, each round you will drop that barbell at rep 5 or less and will not try to push a few reps past it.
Mix it up and try to go unbroken as long as you possibly can and see what happens.
Challenge your body to go a few extra reps above what the voice in your head telling you to do. I guarantee that if you follow this, you’ll find that you’ve developed a new habit.......
WOD: 4 Rounds
12 Thrusters (95/65)
Rest 1 Minute (each person will start the next round exactly 1 minute after they finished the previous round)
*After each round you must rest one minute. So if you finish round 1 at 3:48 you start round 2 at 4:48. You finish Round 2 at the 7:00 mark start round 3 at 8:00, then finish round 3 at the 12:12 minute start round 4 at the 13:12 then you finish round 4 at the 16:37, that is your final time. You are responsible for tracking your minutes and starting your next round after 60 seconds of rest. You can not start before the 60 seconds of rest. You must wait the entire 60 seconds before starting the next round.
It's a good thing we have Moms and YouTube.....
