Workout of the Day (WOD)

Monday 9/29/14

This weekend I had the pleasure to train The 81st Brigade Combat Team with the Army Washington National Guard on Saturday and Sunday at 5:30am.  This group of men and women travel from all parts of the Northwest getting up as early as 2am to commute in, then work for the Army all day.  In that time they decided they wanted to better their fitness and be more prepared for their Army Physical Fitness Test, so a group of them came in both days to train with me, again at 5:30am each day, to work out hard then do a full day with the Army, then drive home and do it all over the next day.

I'm privileged to be able to work with them and it makes me proud to see so many hard working people with good characters serving in our Armed Forces.

I would like to thank the 81st ABCT for letting me be a part of it and thank each one of them for their service.

When I was a kid, my favorite military advertisement was for the Army where it would say "We do more before 9am than most people would do all day".  Their ads were so compelling that I almost joined the Army, then I realized I like to sleep in so I joined the Air Force instead :-)
