Workout of the Day (WOD)

I found out I was pregnant only about a month after joining CFIB and was still totally intimidated by "CrossFit" and didn't know if I could stay while pregnant. I'm so glad I did because it has been a truly awesome part of my journey!! Even when it's difficult, I completely encourage pregnant women to keep coming as long as they can, modify with confidence, and enjoy the unique experience! (And rest when you need it!)I'm looking forward to returning after baby comes!

1. What is the biggest fitness challenge for you right now?
My biggest challenge has been working out through second and into third trimester of pregnancy. Finding good modifications that still keep diversity as well as beating the fatigue! The trainer's here and classmates have all been amazingly helpful!!

2. What is a recent accomplishment?
I can strict press 55lb during the work outs! Previously, I have never been able to do a set with more than 35lb. Also, still working out into my 3rd trimester!

3. What goals do you have right now?
Staying healthy while pregnant, both physically and mentally. Anxiety has been a big struggle for me, even more so while pregnant. Each week I come to C.F. I have my physical goal, but more importantly my mental goal of staying mindful and positive. Also, my goal is to have a baby in a few weeks! During challenging sets, I pretend it's like a contraction and I can't stop until it's over!

4. What keeps you motivated?
50% myself and 50% the CFIB community!! I love the team camaraderie and enthusiastic environment! My Mantra: Healthy/Strong Mamma-Healthy Baby!  I'm also a therapist and life coach so motivation is kinda my thing! ;)

10 Weighted Reverse Lunges holding barbell in the front rack (same barbell as Push Press)
