CrossFit helps cultivate a WELL ROUNDED representation of fitness. The variety of movement patterns, time domains, and loading mean that no stone is left unturned. You probably know someone who is a great runner, cyclist, or swimmer - and has amazing aerobic endurance. You probably also know someone who is very strong, and has the ability to squat, deadlift, or press impressive amounts of weight. You may even know someone who has incredible body weight strength, like a rock climber, who can do pull-ups and push-ups for days. But what if you ask the runner to deadlift twice their body weight, or the lifter to run a sub 6 minute mile? Odds are that few will be able to. CrossFit specializes in NOT SPECIALIZING - in other words, we train it ALL. This means we develop our aerobic capacity, our ability to move external load, and our body weight strength EQUALLY - in order to maximize our fitness as a whole. Results are MEASURABLE (and not just on the scale). If you work out consistently and have no idea if you are improving or not, it’s tough to stay motivated. By recording our workouts each day in detail, we can clearly see when we are making progress! We KNOW that we are stronger, faster, and can do more than we could before. This progress inspires us, allows us to set achievable goals, and puts the focus on WHAT OUR BODIES CAN DO rather than just what they look like or how much they weigh.
CrossFit classes are run by COACHES. Our 1 hour long classes are entirely led by the coach, which means you have guidance throughout your warm-up, skill, strength, and workout pieces. They are TRAINED to help you, teach you, and ensure that you are moving with the best and safest technique. Our small class size of 10-15 athletes means that you are consistently getting attention and feedback - like small group personal training. This hands on approach allows us to help our athletes continually learn, improve, and stay safe.
CrossFit is a COMMUNITY. Unlike a regular gym, here everyone knows your name. We know what you do for work, ask about your kids and dogs, and ACTUALLY CARE IF YOU SHOW UP.
