Workout of the Day (WOD)

I love this blog post by Miranda Oldroyd.  Miranda was in a car accident and discusses how CrossFit literally saved her life.  It's long so I can't post it here but take some time to read it.  CrossFit is Dangerous??? And How It Very Literally Saved My Life.

Strength:  Shoulder Press 2x2x2x2x2+ (75, 80, 85, 87.5, 90%)

WOD:  This WOD is from the 2008 CrossFit Games.  FYI the best times at the 2008 Games were men:  2:33 and women 3:23.

5 Rounds
5 Deadlifts (275/185)
10 Burpees

Remember the coaching cues during the deadlift:

Lumbar Curve

Push your hips back

Weight is in your heels

Pull the chest tall

Stiffen the upper back

Tuck the Chin

Open the hips up all the way at the top

Go Fast!!!! Keep the weight at a moderate load that is safe but still challenging.
