Workout of the Day (WOD)

Tuesday 5/29/12

It is with terrible sadness that I have to tell you we lost a friend and member of our gym.

Gabe Pigotti, our beloved friend, tragically passed away in a car accident on Thursday, May 24th.  He was 33 years old.

Gabe cared deeply about everyone he knew, and cherished all of the relationships he’d engaged in via business and his personal life.  In the gym he was always trying to make us laugh with his goofiness and jokes.  Gabe was always in a good mood and enjoyed talking to everyone.  His smile and positive attitude was infectious and a pleasure to have in the gym and as a friend.  Gabe was the definition of a hard worker while making the most of life.

Gabe was a passionate and generous friend and a true inspiration to all of us.

He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, enthusiasm and zest for life. He is adored and missed by us all more than words can describe.  We appreciate your support in this difficult time and please keep Gabe in your thoughts.  He is survived by his mother, Elida Pigotti, his brother, Gerry Pigotti and Gerry's wife, Kristi and their two boys, Gavin & Nicholas Pigotti, Gabriel's nephews, and all his friends he called family.

Services will be as follows:

Rosary – 7PM Wednesday May 30, 2012 – St Francis Of Assisi - 15226 21st Avenue SW

Memorial Service – 10:30AM (reception to follow) Thursday May 31, 2012 - St Francis Of Assisi - 15226 21st Avenue SW

Gabe's Obituary

Gabe will be missed, so today we are celebrating his life with the following WOD.
Give it all you have people.
No rests, no slacking, and no “this sucks”.
Today is Gabe's day, so he would want us to laugh and celebrate!
Strength or skill: Work on your Clean & Jerk (establish weights for the WOD, especially those newer to CF) or Shoulder Press 5 sets of 3 reps @ 80% 1rm
WOD:  "Ladies Night"
3 rounds
run 400m
5 clean & Jerks (185/115) (Gabe enjoyed throwing heavy weight from ground to overhead)
30 Double Unders (I'm adding double unders because Gabe hated DU's and every time these were in a WOD he'd throw a mini fit and it'd crack me up)
*The reason this WOD is named Ladies Night is because  one day Gabe announced and wrote on the White Board that the class he was attending the following day was for all the single ladies, calling it "Ladies Night"  Just by coincidence not one lady showed up for the class.

 Always making us smile
